I’m excited to share that I’ve started meditating again! To be honest, I don’t know why I kept putting it off and not making time for it. Iit’s interesting how we often procrastinate and put things off, even when it’s something that only requires a few minutes of our time each day. I mean really, how much effort does it take to dedicate 5-10 minutes a day to meditation?

I’ve found that the key to sticking with meditation is to make it a part of your daily routine. Pick a specific time that works for you and try to stick to it. Each morning, I wake up and instinctively head over to the coffee machine. Without thinking about it, when I’m still half asleep, I routinely prep the machine, put in the grinds.. That lovely aroma fills the air, and I sit and sip my coffee, take out my journal and set my intentions for the day. And now I have begun to include, as my first intention, meditate. Putting things in writing always helps me stick to the script. It’s kind of like, I committed to it now that it’s written down.

So, after my coffee, I meditate for 5 minutes. I know it’ll take a few weeks before this really sinks in as part of my natural routine. But as long as I stick to it, pretty soon I’m sure it will become as instinctual as making that first cup of coffee. For now, I’m still in that trying to build it into my routine phase. Hey, we gotta start somewhere, right? Lately my stress levels have been off the charts and I really haven’t been sleeping well. And I know that meditating every day is really going to help. Meditation is not just a trendy buzzword; it’s a powerful tool that has been practiced for centuries to calm the mind, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being. I know from past experience, meditation can be a game-changer when it comes to managing stress. Why I slipped in my practice I can’t say… Well actually, yeah, I know exactly why.. I became to focused on everything and everyone else and forgot about myself and what I need. Life just has a way of getting away from us sometimes and we need to step back and reel it all in again.

One of the key benefits of meditation is its ability to help us focus on the present moment. By bringing our attention to our breath or a specific focal point, we can let go of worries about the past or future and simply be. This practice of mindfulness can help us cultivate a sense of calm and clarity, even in the midst of chaos. It helps us stay grounded. And isn’t that just what we need?

I’m glad I finally made the effort to prioritize my meditation practice again… of prioritizing me again. Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience with you. If you’re thinking about starting a meditation practice, I encourage you to give it a try. It’s a small step that can make a big difference in your life.
